As such, UCCS hosted Ben Edelen, the CISO for the Colorado Dept. of State to present a webinar: Digital Citizenship and the Top Cybersecurity Risks to our Community.  to help you stay ahead of the latest scams and to protect your personal information and that of the organizations of which you are a part (ahem, UCCS).

UCCS hosted ~100 Colorado K-12 educators interested in bringing cybersecurity education to their classrooms, school, and district. In this recording, you will hear from the Colorado Dept. of Education (CDE), the NSA, other educators, and students, who are raising the bar in cybersecurity education across Colorado and providing great resources that will grow the presence of cybersecurity K-12 education.

Gretchen Bliss, Director of Cybersecurity Programs at UCCS, addresses high school counselors in the states of Texas and California. Gretchen shares how UCCS has built a cybersecurity program that now graduates over 200 students per year who are educated in cybersecurity.  She also shares the importance of hands-on real-world education in cybersecurity -- the best way to prepare for the workforce -- and the resources and programs at UCCS that fill this need.
