UCCS & Cyber First Fridays Present: Digital Citizenship Community Day

DATE: Friday, June 5th, 2026

TIME: 8am - 4pm

LOCATION: UCCS Kevin W. O'Neil Cybersecurity Center, Colorado Springs

Join the Colorado Springs cybersecurity community to grow your awareness of cyber resources in the community, network/find jobs, get a resume review, get hands-on with your cyber hygiene (bring your laptop and phone!), and learn about B2B resources and various educational topics in the world of cyber.

UCCS Week-long Summer Cyber Camps for Middle School

Are you a middle school student who wants to explore your interest in cybersecurity?
 
This year, thanks to our sponsors, UCCS Cybersecurity Summer Camps for Middle School Students will hold 3 camps:
 

Each camp runs Monday - Friday, 9am - 3:30pm each day.
 
LOCATION: UCCS Kevin W. O'Neil Cybersecurity Education & Research Center: 3650 N. Nevada Ave., Colorado Springs
 
These week-long Cybersecurity Camps are designed to educate middle school students on either the fundamentals or advanced concepts of cybersecurity. If you enjoy classroom learning supplemented with many online and hands-on activities and resources like Caesar Cyphers, picking locks, and defending a network, this camp is for you.

CFF Community Day - First Ever!

CFF is hosting the first ever Community Day on the UCCS Campus! This event will provide:

  • Featured speakers for industry, government and the tech industry to learn from
  • Cyber Hygiene Station staffed by ISSA for community members to improve personal security 
  • Cyber Career Center and Mini Job Fair for students looking to get connected to cybersecurity employers, improve their resume, and learn more about job opportunities in cyber, IT and tech

Two-week Intensive CompTIA Security+ Certification Training Class

The UCCS Cybersecurity Programs Office is offering 25 full scholarships to this amazing preparatory class series. Dr. Ryan Frueh of Booz Allen Hamilton is offering a 2-week intensive class series to prepare UCCS students to take the CompTIA Security+ Certification exam. This is the industry's most commonly requested cybersecurity certification.

UCCS Fall 2026 Cyber Tier 1 SOC Analyst Training Open for Applications

UCCS is hosting Hands-On Cyber SOC Analyst Training this Fall – and at no cost to students who qualify! 
 
The UCCS Hands-On Tier 1 Cyber SOC Analyst Training will expose you to live customer data, teach you how to read logs, scan data, threat hunt, and triage & research alerts to identify anomalies and vulnerabilities in real-world data through the online training system. As a Tier 1 analyst, you will then use a security monitoring tool (Netography) and a ticketing system (JIRA) to report suspicious activity to Tier 2 analysts that can ultimately get escalated to the local governments who have provided the data.

Grad Students! Join the Media + Tech Collective

Media + Tech Collective of the Rockies

Deadline: September 2026

Competition Period: Spt. 28 - Nov. 1, 2026, with finals in-person on Friday, Nov. 6th, 2026

Join this multi-week, industry-style case competition where teams of 3-5 graduate students develop solutions to authentic media/tech challenges, present to industry judges, compete for cash prizes ($6K total), and network with potential employers. Top teams earn preferred internship interviews with sponsoring companies.

Who Should Apply?

  • Current graduate students from participating Colorado universities

  • Teams of 3-5 students; any major or background welcome

  • Must be 18+ and enrolled for Fall 2026
