Join WiCyS for a candid conversation with Dr. Georgianna "George" Shea, Chief Technologist and Senior Fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) and a nationally recognized authority on cyber-physical security and critical infrastructure protection. Her career runs from Army veteran to Chief Engineer at MITRE to advising national policy. She'll share the path that shaped it and the many paths open to you.

MLCC hosts Breaking Into Cyber: Internship Tips, Tricks & Success Stories

Cyber First Fridays -- UCCS Research Exchange

Join CFF as Cyber First Friday and UCCS team up to highlight UCCS cybersecurity research. Students will demonstrate various cybersecurity-related research projects. As always, there's free food and drink.

National Cyber League Team Game!
Date: Friday - Sunday, Nov. 6 - 8, 2026
Time: Play begins at 7am on Friday and ends at 7pm on Sunday
Location: All play is online. UCCS teams will gather at the UCCS Kevin W. O'Neil Cybersecurity Center: 3650 N. Nevada Ave, Colorado Springs
Cost: NCL Licenses are available through the CPO
The National Cyber League (NCL) is a beginner-level cybersecurity Capture the Flag (CTF) Competition that provides real-world, hands-on training that employers value. The NCL offers a practice game, team game and individual competition, as well as a practice gymnasium throughout. UCCS Professors Dr. Tan and Trevon Williams are mentors for this year's competition team, and are holding weekly drop-in training sessions on campus. For questions, email cyber@uccs.edu.

Join UCCS' student-led Mountain Lion Cyber Club for a deep dive into the world of a cybersecurity leader: Jesus Santiago, an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) shares their journey from student to cybersecurity professional. Learn about the twists and turns of breaking into the field, the realities of working in cybersecurity, and the wide range of career opportunities available beyond common roles like SOC Analyst and Security Engineer.

7th Annual MWCC (Mountain West Cyber Challenge) sponsored by Deloitte
Date: Saturday, Dec. 5, 2026
Time: 10am - 2pm MT
Location: online (though individual teams can gather in person)
UCCS and Deloitte host this national Capture the Flag so teams of up to 4 students can practice hands-on, real-world cyber competition in a CTF format. Simulations of actual events are available, and you have to defend your network from attackers.
