UCCS Hands-On Cyber SOC Analyst Training - Scholarships Available!

Date: Begins Monday, Feb. 24th, 2025 (Information Session)

UCCS is hosting Hands-On Cybersecurity SOC Analyst Training in Spring 2025 – and at no cost to students who qualify! This training provides hands-on real-world experience in cybersecurity -- just what employers are seeking. To register for the training, the scholarship, and get started, students must register. Orientation is Monday, 24 Feb. The program lasts for 3 months, in which time you will step in to the role of a Tier 1 SOC Analyst for a Colorado governmental organization.

Boot Camp for CompTIA Security+ Certification

Date: Our partner colleges and universities are providing classes in January and February 2025
Location: Online / at CSU, Metro State Denver, Mesa State University and Western State University
Thanks to a grant from Boettcher Foundation, UCCS is able to fund 4 CompTIA Security+ Certification Training Camps in early 2025! Cybersecurity students in all disciplines are invited to prepare for the Sec+ Certification exam. Students can be awarded a scholarship for the prep classes -- almost 40 hours in the classroom -- all classroom materials, and a $404 exam voucher -- all included in the scholarship. Pass rates are above 90% for students who have participated in this class in the past, thanks in no small part to Instructor Dr. Ryan Freuh from Booz Allen Hamilton.

NICE Local Stakeholders Engagement Event for Cyber

As a lead up to the NICE Conference in Denver in June, UCCS & NCC are hosting the Local Stakeholders Engagement Event (LSEE) at the UCCS Cybersecurity Center. The theme is Securing the Melting Pot: Harnessing Colorado's Diverse Communities to Build a Resilient Cyber Workforce Ecosystem. With many industry sectors represented, a panel of experts will discuss strategies for tapping into Colorado’s diverse communities to create a collaborative and inclusive cybersecurity workforce. Focus will be placed on statewide, regional, and local opportunities to enhance cybersecurity workforce resilience and scalability.

Lockheed Martin Workshop with WiCyS Club Chapters Across Colorado!

CO Cyber Summit for K-12 Educators

NCyTE AI Workshop: Implications of Artificial Intelligence for Educators

Date: Monday, April 28th and Monday, May 5th, 2025
Time: 9am - 3pm both days
Location: Apr. 28th is in-person at the UCCS Kevin W. O'Neil Cybersecurity Center. May 5th is online via Zoom
UCCS faculty and staff are invited to a 2-day workshop taught by NCyTE (National Cybersecurity Training & Education Center). This AI Fundamentals course empowers educators to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) both in the teaching & learning processes.
If you want to understand more about the implications of AI in the classroom, this curriculum covers the basics of AI and provides the background and tools to integrate AI into their teaching and curriculum. The workshop also prepares educators for the Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals Certification, though the cost of the test is not included in this training. US CYBER COMMAND Tech Talk

UCCS College of Engineering hosts US General Haugh, a 4-star Commander at US CYBERCOM at this exciting event. UCCS College of Engineering will share cybersecurity research. This event is by invitation only.
