Upcoming Events

UCCS hosts various events and programs to educate, inform, and drive cybersecurity collaboration and progress. Events include cybersecurity career events, speaking and research events, community fairs, K-12 activities, student club events, and more.

CyberPatriot Camps Across Colorado - Summer 2024

Date: Weeks of July 8th and July 15th, 2024

Time: Monday - Friday, Various start and end times

Location: Camps are being held across Colorado at various universities & educational sites

UCCS has partnered with Colorado Mesa University, CSU (Ft. Collins), Metro State University Denver and National Cybersecurity Center (NCC) to offer 6 week-long cybersecurity camps across Colorado. Camps will be both introductory and advanced levels, and will target either middle school or high school students. All camps are using the United States Air and Space Forces Association curriculum for CyberPatriot Camps to inspire K-12 students toward careers in cybersecurity.

GenCyber Cybersecurity Summer "Combination" Camp 2024

Date: Monday - Friday, 22 - 26 July, 2024

Time: 9am - 3:30pm MT

Location: UCCS Cybersecurity Center: 3650 N. Nevada Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80907

Cost: Free!

In the summer of 2024, UCCS will be hosting a "combination" camp, bringing both middle school students and teachers together. This week-long camp will teach cybersecurity principles and be loaded with hands-on activities and exercises to expand and test your cybersecurity skills and education.

Introduction to Cybersecurity Camp for Spanish-speaking Middle School Students - Summer 2024

Date: 29 July - 2 August, 2024

Time: Monday - Friday: 9am - 3:30pm. Students are expected to attend all 5 days

Location: Kevin W. O'Neil Cybersecurity Education & Research Center 

The Introduction to Cybersecurity Summer Camp for Middle School Students (in Spanish) is a week-long camp that introduces students to the basics of cybersecurity. This Dreamer-friendly camp is a great way to learn the basics of cybersecurity and cyber careers through hands-on activities and events. Middle school students will have the opportunity for interactive learning and to to hear experts in the field of cybersecurity share their education and career experiences. The camp is free and lunch will be provided each day.

Intro to Cyber Camp for Spanish-speaking Middle School Students - Summer 2024 - Pueblo

Date: 5 - 9 August, 2024

Time: Monday - Friday: 9am - 3:30pm. Students are expected to attend all 5 days

Location: Water Tower Place, Pueblo, CO

Boot Camp for CompTIA Security+ Certification

Date: Monday, 5 August - Saturday, 17 August, 2024

Time: Monday - Friday: 5:30 - 8:30pm each evening (100% online). Sat. Aug. 17th is 9am - 5pm (in person) + One-hour Introductory/Kickoff Meeting on Friday, Aug. 2nd (6 - 7pm, virtual)

Location: Mon. - Fri. sessions & kickoff are online/remote. Saturday final session is in person at UCCS Kevin W. O'Neil Cybersecurity Education and Research Center

Cybersecurity students in all disciplines are invited to prepare for the CompTIA Security+ Certification exam. Students are awarded a scholarship for the prep classes and a $404 exam voucher -- all included in the scholarship. Pass rates are above 90% for students who have participated in this class in the past, thanks in no small part to Instructor Dr. Ryan Freuh from Booz Allen Hamilton.

Cyber First Fridays

Date: Every first Friday of the month

Time: 4pm - 6:30pm MT

Location: UCCS Cybersecurity Building. Enter through door marked "B Wing" & proceed to NCC Space
