About Cybersecurity at UCCS
Cybersecurity Program Offerings are Growing!

UCCS boasts a long and strong history in cybersecurity education and community development. The first degrees in the College of Engineering and Applied Science were offered in 2008, and our first designation as a Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) for Cyber Defense was awarded in 2012. Today, UCCS offers over 20 degrees and programs for cybersecurity across 5 colleges.
NSA Designation: CAE for Cyber Defense
UCCS is proud to be designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) for Cyber Defense by the US National Security Administration (NSA).
Building a Cybersecurity Community

In addition to education efforts at the university, UCCS continues to build interest in cybersecurity in the region by hosting cybersecurity events, competitions, K-12 programs and summer camps, and more.
Cybersecurity Scholarships to Fuel the Next Generation

UCCS is the first school within the CU system to secure the Federal CyberCorps Scholarship for Service (SFS) program, which combines leadership, mentorship, & service to develop a well-trained cybersecurity government workforce. Through NSA funding, the SFS program offers financial aid to those pursuing cybersecurity degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Expanding Across Campus

In May of 2022, the O'Neil Center for Cybersecurity Education and Research was expanded by over 20,000 additional square feet to house classrooms, research space, technology labs, community meeting space, & an executive conference room.
UCCS resident partners, the National Cybersecurity Center (NCC) and Space ISAC (Information Sharing and Analysis Center) are co-located in the space for easy collaboration.
