College of Business

Undergraduate Degree Programs

  • Business, Bachelor of Science (BS) - Cybersecurity Management Track
    • The Bachelor of Science in Business – Cybersecurity Management Track utilizes aspects of our business management curriculum, while focusing on developing the information systems competencies needed for the cybersecurity sector. This program can be completed on campus.

Graduate Degree Programs

  • Masters in Business Administration (MBA) - Cybersecurity Management Track
    • The Master of Business Administration (MBA) – Cybersecurity Management Track is the same MBA program available to business graduates, while focusing on developing the skills & competencies needed for the cybersecurity sector. Our MBA program is designed to meet the needs of students with or without previous business education. This program can be completed either online or on campus.
  • Executive Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) - Cybersecurity Management Track
    • The Executive Doctor of Business Administration is a 3.5 year program designed for working professionals. This unique terminal degree is designed to develop scholar-practitioners who will be skilled in practice-focused research in cybersecurity. In addition, this degree is targeted at industry professionals responsible to define their organization’s cybersecurity posture in today’s increasingly vulnerable online environment.

Certificate Programs

Cybersecurity Management Certificate
  • Undergraduate Certificate
    • The Undergraduate Certificate in Cybersecurity Management aims to address the current demand for skilled cybersecurity workforce roles. The Cybersecurity Management Cert is a great add-on to any degree and will prepare individuals looking for IT, information systems, and cybersecurity occupations anticipated within the next five years. Certificate coursework can be applied towards a bachelor’s degree.
  • Graduate Certificate
    • This 12-credit hour Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity Management focuses on information systems and cybersecurity skills for those who have already completed an undergraduate degree or an MBA. This certificate can be completed online.

College of Education

  • Cybersecurity in Education: Digital Citizenship Project
    • The Digital Citizenship Project within CoE illustrates UCCS’ commitment to interdisciplinary training in cybersecurity. This workshop prepares future educators on aspects of digital leadership and digital citizenship, ensuring they are deploying 21st-century digital skills. It incorporates digital wellness, digital accessibility, user data and securing digital devices, and understanding personal information and the digital footprint. It is especially useful for teachers targeting the Human Services industry or Youth Mentoring.

College of Engineering and Applied Science

Undergraduate Degree Programs

  • Computer Engineering, Bachelor of Science (BS)
    • The Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering degree provides a foundation for understanding computer engineering, teaches you how to design and program to create solutions to real-life problems, and helps develop thinking and communication skills. Adding a focus in cybersecurity to this degree by focusing your electives on the Cybersecurity Track, or by adding a Cybersecurity Certificate, can cross-train you for a high-demand career in cybersecurity.
  • Computer Science, Bachelor of Arts (BA) - Cybersecurity Track
    • The Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science – Cybersecurity Track provides an education in software design and development toward the generation of impactful applications and computing systems with less emphasis on math (Calculus) than a BS degree. Adding the Cybersecurity Track (18 credit hours) to this degree cross-trains students for a high-demand career in cybersecurity. This degree can be taken online or on campus.
  • Computer Science, Bachelor of Science (BS)
    • The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program focuses on a balance of knowledge in software design and development, including algorithms, the hardware and software aspects of computers, and effective and impactful applications of computing. Adding a focus in cybersecurity to this degree by choosing the Cybersecurity Track (up to 12 credit hours) can cross-train you for a high-demand career in cybersecurity.
  • Computer Security, Bachelor of Innovation (BI)
    • The Bachelor of Innovation in Computer Security program offers the out-of-the-box thinking & flexibility that comes with a Bachelor of Innovation degree, namely a focus on entrepreneurship and business management, as well as the knowledge required to detect, mitigate, and protect against threats to information security for networks, computers, and data.
  • Computer Science, Bachelor of Innovation (BI)
    • The Bachelor of Innovation in Computer Science offers an education pathway similar to a Computer Science degree (hardware and software principles, analysis, and programming) with an emphasis on business skills such as entrepreneurship, communications, and economics or accounting). You can choose to add a Specialty Area in cybersecurity (12 hours), providing cross-training from both a technological and business perspective, opening up opportunities to the high-demand field of cybersecurity when you graduate.

Degrees in EAS, if not security-specific, allow a student to select cybersecurity electives or a concentration in Cybersecurity.


Graduate Degree Programs

  • Cybersecurity, Masters of Engineering (ME)
    • The Master of Engineering in Cybersecurity program is designed for students, whether recent grads or already in the professional world, that are interested in a graduate level education in the field of cybersecurity, specifically protecting and defending data and ensuring the protection and integrity of information systems.
  • Computer Science, Masters of Science (MS)
    • The Master of Science in Computer Science program is designed for students that are interested in a professional graduate-level education in the field of computer science, including advanced computing concepts, software development and/or research. The student’s Plan of Study and/or thesis topics can focus on cybersecurity, with guidance from your academic advisor.
  • Computer Science, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
    • The PhD in Engineering - Computer Science is for those with the capability to evaluate work in the field critically and who would like to make original contributions to the field through a combination of independent study and coursework under supervision of an Advisory Committee. The student’s Plan of Study can include cybersecurity-related topic areas.
  • Security, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
    • The PhD in Security offers a security curriculum for students to study and conduct multi-disciplinary research in areas of cyber security, physical security, and homeland security, which have become critical and increasingly urgent in today's personal, business, and government operations.

Graduate degrees in EAS, if not security-specific, allow a student to select cybersecurity electives, a thesis or a concentration in Cybersecurity.


Certificate Programs

Undergraduate
  • Applied Cybersecurity Certificate
    • The Applied Cybersecurity Undergraduate Certificate (4 classes) is designed for learners who work in the cybersecurity career field or those interested in entering it. Learners will succeed if they have a basic understanding of computer systems and network architectures, have some programming experiences, and are proficient in problem solving and algebra. This Certificate is recommended for EAS majors who want cross-training in cybersecurity to enhance employability in this high-demand field.
Graduate
  • Engineering Secure Software Certificate
    • The Graduate Certificate in Secure Software Systems offers a set of four graduate courses on campus leading to a Certificate in Secure Software Systems that either stands on its own or can constitute up to 40% of the requirements for various UCCS Masters or PhD degrees.
  • Network System Security Certificate
    • The Network System Security Graduate Certificate offers individuals who engineer computer-based systems or develop policy and doctrine for these systems a solid foundation in system concepts, information operations, and information assurance. The degree consists of 4 graduate-level courses (plus pre-requisites). 

College of Letters, Arts & Sciences

Undergraduate Degree Programs

  • Interdisciplinary Studies with an Emphasis on Cybersecurity, Bachelor of Arts (BA)
    • The BA in Interdisciplinary Studies with an Emphasis on Cybersecurity offers students from the College of Letters, Arts, Sciences (LAS) a chance to learn more about cybersecurity concerns and how it impacts their chosen field. If your Concentration Area in LAS is Criminology & Justice, GIS, or TCID, the Cybersecurity Emphasis is a valuable course of study that will help earn employment in a high-demand field.
  • Technical Communication and Information Design, Bachelor of Arts (BA)
    • The BA in Technical Communication and Information Design offers to prepare students for careers in high-demand fields such as technical writing, content management, information design, web creation, and more. Choosing the Cybersecurity Management Track (from the College of Business) is a strong complement to a TCID degree, opening up opportunity in the dynamic field of cybersecurity. This degree can be taken On-Campus, Online, or Hybrid.

  • Criminal Justice, BACJ - Cyber Crime & Cybersecurity Track Option
    • The Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with the Cyber Crime & Cybersecurity Track (an additional 12 credits) teaches students about the important terminology, legal, policy, and criminal justice agency needs that accompany growing cybersecurity threats. Adding the Cyber Track provides a foundation of understanding that you can use in working towards a future career at the intersection of criminal justice and cybersecurity.
