Training and Education Resources for Students - V2

This is a comprehensive set of resources for UCCS students only (Canvas login required). Excellent week-by-week study program that covers everything from setting computer fundamentals, cryptography and OSINT to setting up VMs, how to install Linux, and ethical hacking and networking basics.

If you're interested in trying NCL, email cyber@uccs.edu. Each year, the student-led Mountain Lion Cyber Club (MLCC) puts together a team, buying NCL licenses with funding from the UCCS Cybersecurity Programs Office.

UCCS students can get discounts from CompTIA to purchase training, educational materials and vouchers for CompTIA exams.

CompTIA is one of the most respected and requested certifications out there for cybersecurity (e.g., CompTIA Security+), and is building other well regarded classes -- CompTIA CySA+, Network+, and a slew of AI courses including AI Fundamentals and SecAI+.

If you want something on your resume to show that you not only are getting a degree, but can actually apply what you're learning, CompTIA cert's are a good resource.

Through the end of 2027, UCCS students, staff and faculty have access to a number of Grow with Google certification classes and project specializations. If you want to grow your tech/IT/cyber chops in a way that is valued by employers and expands your education with a leading tech vendor, consider Grow with Google.

Whether you're looking for introductory level or advanced, uCertify covers a broad swath of education levels. You can find CompTIA cert's, industry-specific certifications (e.g., MSFT, Google, Anthropic, Cisco, etc.), or topical education -- AI, cybersecurity, cloud computing, etc. uCertify has both online and hands-on resources that can help. Prices appear to be cheaper than going directly to CompTIA, for example.
